Kremer Eye Center surgeons are the first in the Philadelphia area to perform cataract surgery without injections.

1991

Kremer Eye Center surgeons are the first in the Philadelphia region to perform cataract surgery with astigmatism correction and pioneer the use of no-stitch cataract procedures.

1993

Kremer Eye Center surgeons perform the first LASIK procedure in North America. Kremer surgeons also invent the pivoting microkeratome, making “down-up” LASIK possible.

1994

Dr. George Pronesti, a Kremer Eye Center Managing Surgeon invents the golf bifocal.

1998

Dr. Frederic Kremer’s Excimer Laser becomes the first laser in the world to receive FDA approval for LASIK.

Kremer Eye Center becomes the first in the region to offer the Verisyse lens for patients whose refractions are too high for the LASIK procedure.

1999

Participating in an FDA protocol, Kremer Eye Center surgeons are the first in the Philadelphia region to treat patients with a scanning and tracking laser.

Kremer Eye Center surgeons become the first in the Philadelphia region to perform the INTACS® Corneal Ring Procedure.
