Dr. Anthony Zacchei, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist, specializing in cataracts, glaucoma, and LASIK surgery.
Dr. Zacchei was accepted to medical school while in high school and completed an accelerated six-year program with Penn State University and Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Zacchei trained at both Emory University in Atlanta and the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He received the Resident Research Award and has presented his ophthalmology research in the United States and Europe. He has served as Director of Glaucoma and Cataracts for the Moore Eye Institute affiliated with Brandywine Hospital and the Crozer-Keystone system.
Dr. Zacchei has performed over 16,000 cataract surgeries with an exceptional success rate. He performs the most advanced glaucoma surgeries, including SLT, ECP, trabeculectomies and shunts.
His educational honors and awards include graduating Magna Cum Laude from Jefferson Medical College and selection into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Zacchei has authored numerous publications and has lectured nationally and internationally. He teaches students and residents at numerous local schools. Dr. Zacchei is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
