Financing Options for Eye Surgery
November 16, 2018
The cost of corrective eye surgery is a point of discussion for many patients who are considering their options with their doctors. Overall, the price of vision correction procedures can vary depending on the type that’s best for you. However, at Kremer Eye Center we strive to make LASIK affordable for everyone by offering financing options to help you get the procedure that you need.
To make your procedure more affordable, here are a few available financing options for vision correction surgery at Kremer Eye Center.
Financing for Vision Correction Procedures
If you’re considering LASIK, PRK, Visian ICL, or other vision correction procedures, Kremer Eye Center provides numerous financing options. We can help you secure the best payment plan for you.
Furthermore, we have special 0% APR financing for qualified patients. If you pay the full price of your surgery within 24 months, you won’t need to pay any interest. Once this period ends, standard APR rates will apply.
Insurance Options for Vision Correction
Insurance will typically cover medical procedures for cataracts, glaucoma, corneal transplants, and some ophthalmic plastic surgeries, but not corrective surgeries such as LASIK. Fortunately, there are still ways to help you save. For example, Kremer offers discounts to VSP Vision members for LASIK in our Cherry Hill, King of Prussia, and Wilmington surgical centers.
Flexible Spending Account for Eye Surgery
Patients do have the option of using their Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to help pay for LASIK and other eye surgeries that may not be covered by their insurance. Offered by many employers, an FSA lets you contribute pre-tax dollars from your annual salary to the account for select healthcare expenses.
You can contribute up to $2,500 a year for your FSA, but the funds in the account will not carry over to the next year. With that said, you will need to have your LASIK eye surgery performed within the same calendar year if you want to use your FSA to pay for it.
Health Savings Account for Eye Surgery
Patients can also use their Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for eye surgery. These tax-exempt trusts are available to those with high-deductible health plans and allow you to set aside money for certain elective medical expenses.
Individuals will be able to put up to $3,500 per year into their FSA. Families will be able to make a maximum annual contribution of $7,000. Above all, you can use your HSA at any time to pay for eye surgery, because the funds saved to the account will carry over from year to year; it’s one of the biggest benefits of this type of account.
Kremer Eye Center offers numerous financing and payment options to make our advanced eye surgeries more affordable for our patients. To learn more about our special financing, discounts for VSP Vision members, and how you can use your FSA and HSA to pay for LASIK, schedule a consultation today.
